There's this idea going around that #IQ doesn't matter for #sales people, and the (only) thing that sales people really need is "emotional intelligence". Let me tell you, as a customer: I find that to be COMPLETELY WRONG.

@rozzin There should be events for the "startpage" action for something like a "SplashPlugin" to handle. Then sites can do their own arbitrary layout and filtering.

@mmn , I'm debating whether I should also include remote-origin notices to local *users* in the public timeline as well....
@mmn , on the type of sites I run, I want to have posts to locally-hosted groups show up in the 'public' timeline regardless of their origin.
@mmn , I've actually been playing with some patches to make the front-page timeline ("/") be something in-between those extremes....
