   @andyc Probably because you're a couple of years older than me. When I first started earning (well, that's a stretch - let's say making) money Peepshow was the last album and Superstition the next. But then you get into your twenties and begin thinking that there's more to life than vinyl and alcohol. This is technically true, but you neglect vinyl and alcohol at your soul's peril.

   I wish movie theatres grouped their online listings by MPAA rating or something—so I could see at a glance "nope, nothing worth taking the kids to this weekend" instead of having to wade through all of the R-ratings before concluding "12 movies but only 2 PG and they both suck".

    This whole "toasting without desiccating" idea is fascinating. Especially after I blew through a whole loaf of bread last week trying to get enough toasted-but-still-soft-enough-to-bite-through slices for 3 sandwiches....
    
    Is this another case of "easy 50 years ago but impossible now"?

    I think I learned something about #Facebook today: people use it because it has #groups like !GNUsocial! Well, sort-of? @palmella tells me that, *unlike* GNU social groups, Facebook heavily moderates (modulates?) the delivery of group-posts to users' home streams in ways that don't necessarily have obvious explanations....

    Someone just asked me to recommend a good #git #book; I finally conceded that `do a #websearch for "git config.ff only"' is probably best—because any teacher who doesn't tell you to do that as part of your most basic git setup is probably someone you shouldn't listen to.
