#WTF!? Breaking news: reporters have an amazingly liberal definition of "struggle between the police and the suspect" http://www.wcvb.com/news/car-chase-through-several-mass-towns-ends-in-nh/39499390
-
"Simone exited his pickup, appeared to be kneeling on the ground when officers ran up and a physical confrontation began. Video from Sky5 showed a struggle between the police and Simone which lasted for at least 15 seconds." Appears that police #thugs beat a non-resisting perpetrator, despite news chopper videotaping overhead. Probably won't be any repercussions, either.

@lnxw48, worse--that's actually supposed to be "suspect", not "perpetrator"....

I'm having a serious #NIMBY response to this. I'm right next to the border between Hudson (where this took place) and Nashua. That Nashua Police building is literally down the street from me.
-
I'm also pretty perturbed that the camera operator *zoomed out* when it became clear that something notable was happening on-camera--and that the overall #news response was to do their best to ignore it. I think of these guys as having their job be "to make witness", and they really botched that. #BadWitness

@lnxw48, grrr—wish I'd captured this on web.archive.org: they appear to have *significantly* edited the story in place and completely replaced the video at this point.

Have I mentioned how much I hate this "online publishing means you can silently revise and even un-publish after publishing!" thing?

To their (minor) credit, WCVB do at least still provide a link to the original video: http://www.wcvb.com/news/car-chase-through-several-mass-towns-ends-in-physical-arrest/39500992

@lnxw48, actually, it's clear now—from the edits WCVB made after initial publication—that this didn't happen in Hudson but in Nashua.
