   @maiyannah Well, if Open Whisper Systems write shit code using shit protocols and shit standards and then shit on their shitty shit, they have to reshit every once in a while. That's a problem if they federate, because there will be old shit all over the place that they can't clean up because their new shit is incompatible with the old shit and ends up becoming toxic waste.

     @karl Yeah I had very bad experiences with trying to do an XMPP server in the past, which is why I was initially reluctant to set one up.  But Prosody was a snap!
