     @cow2001 I agree. We have a ticket for animated gifs but it looks like GIFs are not supported at all?! https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/330

     @cow2001 So GIF images are already supported. There is no animation though...
     Why did you think that GIFs are not supported?

     @andstatus BTW just this animated gif has some problems to be uploaded or recognized in some programs/sites. I don't know why, maybe because it's big... Anyway maybe any else it's better to test. :)

     @colegota You see, GIF animation support is really not easy. I think this explains why Android core libraries don't support it. Plus AFAIK there are some licensing restrictions, related to GIFs in general.

     @andstatus Yeah, GIFs are special. And people don't always want them to be animated by default (click to activate). I hate GIF. :]
     But the patent stuff on GIF has already expired, so that's a plus: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.en.html "the patents that were used to attack GIF have expired".
