I think that's a confusion of correlation/causation. 52/17 is a habit of productive people. It doesn't make you more productive by itself.

My take on it is that people with this pattern focus intently then take breaks to refuel. That intense focus on one task makes productivity

Actually I find a 90 minute sprint followed by a break to be pretty natural. But I need to get away from my desk for a while during break.

I prefer to go out and touch some trees. But that's not always possible.
