#FREEDOM!!1!
-
My concept of #freedom and the #fediverse concept of freedom are not the same. I'm more libertarian/anarchist. I ignore what I don't like.
-
But most of the arguments I have been making are technical not moral. A lot of us started instances partly to avoid censorship and control
-
I think a better solution is that people should not subscribe to offensive content. The attitude of trying to control others that is wrong.
-
Are you serious? You can't see how banning someone is more controlling than blocking them? I give up. Good luck with your campaign.
-
Adults should be able to handle offensive content without crying about it. But that doesn't mean you aren't welcome here.
-
I'm not asking anyone to tolerate anything. You don't get content from Nazis unless you subscribe to it. Why can't people understand this?
-
No, of course not, but usually devil's advocate is about discussing a relevant idea that you don't necessarily agree with.
-
But if censorship is offensive and Nazis are offensive, surely censoring Nazis is worse. Or better.
-
I still don't know what I'd do if someone posted illegal content to my instance. But since I'm the only user it's easy to block.
