@mcscx Actually I've changed it (I think everywhere) so singleuser mode acts just like the others. The profile URL is generated with nickname included etc.
- Chimo likes this.

@kzimmermann You'd probably get more help if you asked !gnusocial.
-
@kzimmermann I've never tried it, but there's this: https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/blob/master/scripts/install_cli.php

@kzimmermann what's your "post_max_size" value in php.ini? http://php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.post-max-size @vinzv
-
@kzimmermann GS has a quota for attachments, but that's it I think. What about your lighttpd 'server.max-request-size' value? http://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/1/wiki/Server_max-request-sizeDetails
-
@kzimmermann If you installed your instance as 'private' it won't federate. Otherwise, you might be able to set this to 'false': https://git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/blob/master/CONFIGURE#L331

@tchncs @kzimmermann Actually now that I look at it, it might not be possible to overwrite that value from config.php (it's been a while since I did an install!) Basically, there are different "site profiles" you can choose from when installing ( ex: SingleuserSite, CommunitySite, PrivateSite, PublicSite ). And depending on what you choose, you'll get different features/plugins/o…

@tchncs Oh good :)

@mcscx For some weird reason I wrote your nickname instead of @lnxw48. I think it's time to go to bed. @lnxw48, check this post's parent.
-
@mcscx NO it was meant for you! Gah. My eyes are teasing me. But @lnxw48 apparently also recommended not using single user mode, while it _should_ be perfectly safe now.
-
@mmn Oooh, I might add a few bots to my instance then :D Thanks for fixing
-
@chimo Wait, how is the "singleuser" site profile related to bots?
-
@kzimmermann You should probably fix whatever caused the web installation to fail, or that _same error_ will haunt you during usage. Just getting past the big hurdle by digging through it instead of climbing over it will cause a bunch of dirt to fall on your head midway through.
-
@mmn I'm on single-user right now; can't add accounts for bots. If I understand correctly I should now be able to switch to multi-user without breaking things (subscriptions/other URLs)?
-
@chimo Aha, yes! I think so. Try it. Otherwise it'll just be my final, ingenious anti-chimo stunt.
