@nicolasmaia @loweel Here you go: http://status.hackerposse.com/url/8926 The relevant RFCs (or other specification) which are referenced are pretty easy to find (Atom syndication format, various extension to Atom, #microformats Pubsubhubbub, Salmon, FOAF). What's not mentioned in that document is the designation of WebFinger as RFC7033. It would be greatly appreciated…

@denommus Code is never good documentation ;)
@loweel I have no good understanding of how the btrfs filesystem performs its magic hash tables and it would be pretty time consuming for me to read up on it. That doesn't mean I go around calling btrfs or the Linux kernel "non-free".

It appears @loweel doesn't receive my salmon slaps, not sure why yet. But anyone who wants to forward the parent notice of this to him, be my guest. As !gnusocial needs all the help it can get to make the !ostatus suite easy to understand for everyone. :)

/me slaps @mmn, @loweel@boseburo.ddns.net around a bit with a large trout
-
@mmn oh, you said salmon… Oops, wrong fish.
-
@chimo Or wrong protocol.
-
@drymer Not official and just the great collecting/saving work of @erkanyilmaz (at least) and something we should find a better home for ;)

@loweel Diaspora has gone and fucked up the !OStatus standard in several ways to implement various triple-layer base64-encoding for reasons unknown. They do tons of things in their own way, without paying any regards to the RFCs. Anyway, if you want that documentation I'd be glad to fill out any technical details and answer questions. There's no complete, finished alm…

@loweel @drymer I guess https://www.w3.org/community/ostatus/ would be a good place to start, I've just never started using the wiki myself, mostly because it felt so alone and tedious. We need critical mass before the boring stuff starts to get done.
-
@drymer Not all. Some is on the skilledtests wiki and some on OStatus community group.

@loweel Just ask then. What is it that you're wondering about? Can't help if I don't know what you're asking for.
@drymer That would be awesome. Personally I'm much better at answering questions than describing something from scratch, so feel free to ping me if you're curious about something.
