A friend is using #Windows 10. It suddenly starts crashing within 15 minutes of booting. Frustration grows. I slide in, install #Ubuntu (dual boot) - clicket-i-click - the machine works fine. All desired software works perfectly.
Thank you #Microsoft for giving me this opportunity to introduce another person to (more or less) libre operating systems!

@andresinmp They haven't gone up in smoke. Essentially they'll just do software from now on (Sailfish I guess).
Hardware is a dirty, expensive business do I understand them.

@simsa0 I've never had a problem with that (except some USB stick with #exfat which just needs to install exfat-utils or somesuch). The only issue regarding dual-booting is that _Windows_ can't read _GNU/Linux_ partitions by default, but that's just good since it means more time spent in GNU/Linux in the end. I don't know which distribution you've got experience with …
