@roland I believe current !gnusocial versions in #git require #PHP 5.5 or above, so OS-supplied versions in some installs (e.g., #RHEL / CentOS 6.x, #Debian 7) are not supported. I had to find a 3rd party repo for #CentOS 6 (where OS installs v5.3). //CC: @mmn

@lnxw48 @roland Another solution is stop using worthless #CentOS .)

@roland Debian 8 is stable now. Jessie has a newer than 5.4 version of PHP.
-
@pztrn everyone who has problems with servers run CentOS! #fact
-
@mmn @roland PS. PHP 5.4 is essentially end of life. Security updates stop coming at September 14, http://php.net/supported-versions.php
-
@mmn yes, might be. But many users may have it installed. And here in !gnusocial it is only that keyword #finally that needs to be removed.
-
@roland But it sucks not to be able to use it in the future. There are lots of cases which can be simplified. The reason there's only one so far is because it's been unavailable before.

@roland Too bad you're stuck in the stone age!
