   You can use #Postscript or #LaTeX instead of PDF. But at least one version of #PDF is a free and open format, although not the one currently hawked by Adobe.

     @lnxw48 Thanx for that @LibreOffice #PDF settings hint. I thought that !LibreOffice wouldn't produce anything BUT Free & Open PDFs by default

     @jookia I use !GNU command 'file document.pdf' which tells me it's a PDF document, version 1.2
