searching a public german !statusnet server... any hints?
-
I've seen your #request since yesterday, though I'm not sure, since I don't #know you yet :-( you know how #German #law is...
-
best way is probably to ask people directly with name, e.g. search the one s following you after own #statusnet install + ask them ?
-
It's an interesting question. Are you more interested in ping time, or legal jurisdiction? Or interface language?
-
sure i would ask people if i would find a german server others then the ones in the statusnet wiki.cant setup a server. i'll keep eyes open
-
took me some time to understand. you mean because posts are publically visible no? never thought about that... good point!
-
I was thinking of #law in this sense: when you'd post someth. "bad" - somehow illegal - my #server may get stopped perhaps, so needs #trust
-
the #visibility or #licence (as you mention in other dent) can be "fixed", e.g. by posting to certain groups only I think, needs research
-
not sure if others read your request and why they did not send you a ping yet, just explaining my reasons
-
also think about this: when you switch to a server, read now already about #export options, in case you want to switch later elsewhere
-
with "can't set up" you are referring to? e.g. required knowledge or other resource limitations? e.g. you may give #pagekite a try
-
start VM + pagekite + you can bind your local services (e.g. #statusnet) to the web, though pagekite only trial :-(
-
but considering energy bill longterm more money probably than getting a cheap vps somewhere
-
thanks erkan for all that info! i'm counting time, money, interest as resources and they are scarce.knowledge-wise i think i could.
