Remember that stuff like wifi can have pretty large spikes in power consumption which can disturb (voltage drop) many lower quality power supplies. So either way I guess it's recommended to run stuff that aren't just flash drives or keyboards on a separately powered hub.-

MMN-o ✅⃠ (mmn)'s status on Friday, 13-Mar-2015 05:04:58 EDT MMN-o ✅⃠ The problems I've had with the Pi and USB are related to ethernet usage. Though I've mostly started using #BeagleBone instead of #RaspberryPi as they provide libre licensed schematics.
