I think for example "EmailRegistration" could be a good plugin to use, it will require a valid email address for registration.
There's a guide in the README of the #Recaptcha plugin if you wish to use Google for it: https://gitorious.org/social/mainline/source/master:plugins/Recaptcha/README
But remember most bots are smarter than Google. Also Google is evil.

No, we don't have a new wiki. @erkan runs a mirror of the old wiki so documents are still available. Our current priority is getting a sane public repository set up ;)

(because #Gitorious is closing down because proprietary #GitLab are taking over)

Thanks for the offer, but I think what we're lacking is the software ;)
Since everyone are using #GitHub nowadays, there don't seem to survive any Good(tm) free (libre) source repository/issue tracker-combos.

I have a hard time supporting a company - even if it means just using a libre software from them - when they explicitly buy another company (who produce AGPL software!), shut down their services and discontinue their work - and then also continues running their _own_ service as a split proprietary vs. (assuming) intentionally crippled "community edition".
I don't like those tactics at all.

Since the #Gitorious code is being discontinued (afaik), and I haven't seen a community uptake on it, it would mean using code that is unlikely to get updates. I doubt any of us involved on our spare time with #GNUsocial have the capacity to overtake responsibility for the source code. Alternatives we have been looking at however are http://status.hackerposse.com/url/…

Yeah, I've happily used #trac as a user many times. But I haven't checked whether it is capable of integrating with a source repository (stuff like merge/pull requests). #gogs - and thus notabug.org - will get support for that likely within a week or so. That will make it a neat, attractive alternative.
But hey, we've got until May to figure out where to go. No rush! :D

@andresinmp Hadn't heard about that - but it does seem to fill the basic requirements. Maybe we should have a go at #Kallithea (#Καλλιθέα !) and see if it's easy to setup + maintain.
-
@windigo I think #Phabricator is awful. Also they explicitly can't support #OpenID login. What an antifeature.

@roland do you want to take over the maintenance of #Gitorious source code? I don't. And running discontinued software doesn't sound very fun.
