The New England Model Engineering show is this Saturday in Lowell, MA: http://www.neme-s.org/
- Joshua Judson Rosen and Joshua Judson Rosen repeated this.

@jd, really glad I got to attend, this year—though it was really weird seeing all of the engines driven by, uh... artificial respiration? And more disappointing that the ones that couldn't be run that way, like your #flame-licker #engine, weren't allowed to run at all :\

!TIL about the #flame-licker #engine type from @jd. cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuum_engine

@rozzin It was great to see you there, Joshua, and was pleasantly surprised by everyone else who I know that showed up. I had fun (in spite of not being allowed to run my engine) talking with such a variety of interesting people, friends and strangers alike. And, !TIL about TIL.

@jd, there are lots of fine conversation groups on this social network—you need to join them before posting, which will also bring their conversations to you. Here's a curated central listing: http://skilledtests.com/wiki/List_of_federated_GNU_social_groups

@rozzin Thanks, Joshua. Wow, what a list. Found some interesting ones. Going on a long-weekend vacation this weekend, will explore while travelling.

@jd Welcome to the wonderful world of social networking. Someday I'll try using it too...
-
@bobbyc @jd, !gnusocial is the #2nd-best #socialnetwork I've found, after the most advanced social network ever made: http://www.bonkersworld.net/best-social-network-ever/

I don't know about the unbeatble low price part - I've sat at tables smaller than that and ended up with a hefty #bar #tab at the end of the night. Also I couldn't find my car.

Oh yeah... @jd @rozzin
