@moshpirit whoa - a SECOND group for our !fediverse??? that's eminently counter-productive. very #sad
-
@mk Group administration and membership in !GNUsocial is not federated. If an instance hosting a group goes down all the membership info is lost (with description and logo and aliases). While a second, similar group appears counterproductive, it should make the !Fediverse more robust. #FeatureEnhancementRequest
-
@mk Not necessarily counter-productive. For instance, @moshpirit's new group may be primarily in one language (Espanol?). Ultimately, I think the groups feature needs to be modified so that groups are multi-hosted instead of the present very fragile single-hosted groups feature.
-
I think the !fediverse and the #fediverso are simply two planes of existence in a larger #multiverse. Such diversity is good :)

@moshpirit but we could be all in ONE group! there is nothing that limits any group to any single language - *especially* not !fediverse. :(
-
@lnxw48 This? https://web.archive.org/web/20101203085639/http://www.gnewbook.org/ /cc @mk

@moshpirit but you can do that in !fediverse! you really do not need a separate group for that. This makes me really sad. :(
-
@david "la esencia de la red distribuida es la mezcla" exactly. ALL languages and conversatiuons are welcome in !fediverse. That's what it exists for. exactamente. Todos los idiomas y conversatiuons son welc
-
@mk ...Todos los idiomas y conversaciones son bienvenidos en !fediverse. Existe para que.
-
@hgfernan no, sadly federation of groups is only partially implemented. Like I said before, #federation has not even been really *designed*, There are a few hacks that partially work, that is all. The first priority should be proper DESIGN of federation. !fediverse !fediverso
-
@roland as far as I know we do not have any single-language groups. Only groups that happened to start out in one language, none that *exclude* other languages. And that's how it should be. !fediverse !frediverso
-
@lnxw48 no, it's not reasonable at all. They'll be isolating themselves from valuable input - "English" is not needed in !fediverse. cc !fediverso
-
@mmn @lnxw48 besides, !fediverse has many Spanish-speaking members already. Open your mouths, people. DO speak Spanish in !fediverse, please. There just is no need for !fediverso.
-
@lnxw48 @hgfernan It would be great if we could pull some of that activity and ideas into the GNUsocial !fediverse
