Why was the URC8820 remote discontinued?! It does *exactly* what I want and the URC6131 doesn't have the right code to control XBMC.GAARRRR!

If you can't change your #remote to fit #XBMC..., remap your XMBC to fit the remote? http://www.technazgul.com/2010/09/making-sense-of-xbmc-remote-mapping.html

Can be done, but tons of trouble. I think IR receiver is MCE-specific and new remote won't emulate MCE.

@drysdam, does "won't emulate MCE" mean `incompatible remotes' as in `UIRT vs. IRDA'? Buy a cheap (non-universal) MCE #remote?

Means "doesn't have code for that and code from 8820 doesn't work either". Have MCE remote, but use defeats purpose of universality.
