   I backed up a laptop with DejaDup before decommissioning it. Some months later I found that one of the encrypted files was corrupt, which ruined the entire backup. Lesson learned: Test your backups, and back up your backups.

     Also, I no longer use DejaDup for backing up. Plain rsync, with unencrypted files (to a server with encrypted storage, so it's not all bad)
