You can get used to Mac OS, but it still gets in the way. It's so much better than Windows, though. All my command line tools are there. -

The whole Mac OS experience just felt `cheap'—like Apple just didn't have the dev budget that Debian did. eniac likes this. -

It's definitely less flexible. Their multiple desktop implementation OK, but in general they want people to have fewer choices. -

Mac OS has many (not all) CLI tools available; the ones that come with it are frequently more limited than the GNU versions, or just broken. -

Some would say the GNU versions suffer with feature bloat. I have newer git and Ruby versions on the Mac, which I like. -

Haven't used the sed. I have Perl. I had to alias 'ls' to get it to work right, and it took a few tries to get 'find' to work as expected.
