   Why won't #Netflix's website let me see if they have any movies that interest me until *after* I become a customer?

     I don't understand #Netflix's `no window-shopping' posture—it seems idiotic; I think I'll just buy the movies I want to see on amazon.com.

     Hm: blockbuster.com apparently still exists, still rents DVDs via mail, _and_ shows me tempting things without making me jump through hoops first.
