   best self-hosting option to sync !android calendar seems to be #owncloud + CalDav-Sync http://ur1.ca/aj9pi.. or am I missing something?

     @zack I use bot caldav-sync and carddav-sync on my devices and owncloud. My not be open source but it does work well.

     correct, CalDav-Sync is not yet 100% FOSS, although (they claim) they're progressively opening it up http://ur1.ca/ajcvp

     thanks for the aCal tip, I'll look into that | too bad it's a separate app, not integrated with the stock calendar
