Dunno. NM is stable enough to be used nowadays.

It prevented me from setting IP on text console on my friend's machine where X server is broken, for example.

On the other hand, wicd and others have problems with mobile modems and PPPoE/PPTP connections.

So, ifupdown is a good solution.

After all, the point is that NM should not be enforced when it breaks or complicates things in some cases.

@aitorpazos I mean, when I want to connect, I'll do it myself. I don't want to get connected in the background and know it afterwards.

@aitorpazos Besides, I don't want to depend on graphic mode. As I said, when X server is broken, NM becomes burden.
