     I like doing stuff. Not much potential for that on a plane, but then the ride is over pretty quickly.

     I can go anywhere in the country in 2 or 3 hours if there's a direct flight. Amtrak would take a couple days.

     Also in purpose. Amtrak is mostly for sight-seeing, not transport. The auto/oil industries have made public transportation scarce here.
