   The current 2D world map distorts real size of countries. Some are much bigger than they are in a 2D map and some much smaller.

     @solariiknight, areal vs. linear vs. angular distortion is a standard #tradeoff in #cartography, similarly to #photography trade-off of `ultrawide lenses that preserve straight lines' vs. `fisheye lenses that preserve the shape of people's heads'. !osm
