Announcement to the !fediverse: I've start the !cultureshare OStatus group for sharing culture.
Requirements: Description + magnet link(s), give short description of the format.

Follow-up discussions must _not_ have the group bangtag (unless it's an important notification regarding the link, such as being fake, malicious, replaced with something else etc.).

@bumbar Why would the #RIAA care about 40 byte hexadecimal strings? Well, maybe they believe in illegal numbers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_number https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/96475

@bumbar Here, you can have the representation I call "Gorillaz - Humanz (2017) in FLAC" in decimal instead: 1343983307445783823096972332179395472063292242741
Convert it to hexadecimal with this simple CLI command (bash, python): python <<< 'print("%x" % 1343983307445783823096972332179395472063292242741)'

@shevek They're just 40 bytes + some characters in the beginning - the rest of the arguments are optional (and the link could always be shortened visually using metadata in the link itself).
