@tekk Dmytri Kleiner bases the "failure" of StatusNet on two incorrect assumptions: !StatusNet is meant to "defeat" Twitter and Facebook, and StatusNet is required to grow. Despite all his anti-capitalist rhetoric, he still adheres to the notions of competition and market share.

@tekk We *have* built "a network which is an alternative to the abuses of mainstream social media" - having an alternative doesn't require the defeat or destruction of those mainstream social media. So that's a success. And in the case of my instance and the people I've subscribed to, there's no additional growth required.
