"2016 Saw A Massive Increase In Encrypted Web Traffic"

    Two main thoughts about this:

1] Is anyone surprised?  With increasing government surveillance, the desire to avoid prying eyes is also increasing.

2] With how ubiquitous it is becoming, we cannot expect government actors to go without easy interception and cracking methods.  And that's assuming they don't already have them.

@bob I don't know, there's still a lot of lazy and sloppy programming out there, and that is, ultimately, what creates the security problems.  I do agree that there's definitely an increased acceptance of the risks that are created by insecure code however.

@bob Acknowledging that it's a problem and getting people to take it seriously are two different things.

@bob Exactly the kind of thing I mean.  They'll acknowledge the risks, but they don't do anything to mitigate them.
