      @verius Ehhh, Voyager had a lot of problems with trying to be TNG all over again.  A lot of episodes were just Diet TNG remakes, such as the particularly bad knock off of Darmok.       @verius I think what a lot of people critical of Kirk (or any of the TOS tropey character writing) forget, is compared to the other sci fi writing at the time (Doctor Who for instance), pretty much everyone in TOS was pretty well-written.  I do agree that nowadays Shatner's depiction is pretty overrated though.
