     @mangeurdenuage There's a few manufacturers that don't do this (aforementioned Brother is one of them, and they even have RPMs and DEBs for their printer drivers on Linux you can download), but they're the exception and not the rule.

     @mangeurdenuage No that's Samsung and HP's trick.  Or at the very least my printer model doesn't have anything like that.
