@bob We're in that world, like it or not, and willfully refusing to acknowledge how that is just means we're avoiding problems rather than doing anything to address them.

@bob While I'd agree that's getting a bit "meta" from my point of "ignoring the world doesn't make it go away". As people we seem to procrastinate away at our problems rather than making active attempts to fix them. I wonder if there's an aspect of learned helplessness to it, given the state of various sociopolitical systems worldwide right now. This seems likely.

@bob When I have a complex problem, I try to break it down into smaller, more manageable components, and choose one or two components to work on that feel like I personally can improve, change, or otherwise make a difference in.
