@katiekats Whether someone likes Rogue One or not really seems to hinge on whether they can forgive the first half of the movie being a schiznophrenic mess and whether they want their Star Wars movies to be more than just mindless action.

@katiekats I think someone could make a movie entirely consisting of all the times Alowyn tells someone to shut up and die and kills them in SWTOR and it would be better than either of the new films though.

@katiekats Jyn at least had an arc, so that made her better than lass I can't even remember the name of from The Force Awakens. But she's not really an empathetic character, neither her nor guy with really bad-sounding French accent were.
I wonder if a single one of the new movies will have a male lead. Oh, who are we kidding? Of course they won't.

@katiekats I'd spoiler that, but it was already canon for like decades that the BOTHAN(!!) spies that got the Death Star plans all died, so, yknow.

@katiekats Oh sure I could have bought them having Bothans be like not the weird furry shit Bioware came up with, since there HASNT been a canon depiction of them. But they just weren't there. At all.

@katiekats If you take it as a mindless action film, its a good action scene in the third act with a bunch of frankly boring shit in the middle and "oh my god this guy needs an editor badly" in the first. I can see people liking the action scene, it was good and well-choreographed. But I don't buy people saying the characters were that great, except maybe Chirrut (said blind guy)
