    @takeshitakenji It happens a lot on machines that host several websites on Apache.  Many programs like cPanel that automatically manage SSL certs for vhosts will try to find the closest SSL certificate for a domain that is on SSL if one does not exist.  I do not think it is a helpful behaviour.

      @takeshitakenji That's not related to your problem, but it is a seperate issue.  An instance with SSL errors will not federate properly.

      @takeshitakenji Those behaviours are basically what made SSL labs or other similar websites neccesary for SSL troubleshooting for more than advanced configurations or benchmarking security.
