Uh, NicheGamer, removing monetization from your videos isn't censorship.

@purplehippo They received a review copy under terms that stipulated they did and didn't do certain things in their review. Personally, I would never have accepted those terms because fuck that shit. But they did. And then they broke them. And then their video got pulled.
Cause and effect.

@purplehippo It'd dishonest to suggest what is essentially a contract dispute, is actually a matter of free speech, but I've noticed when I look into many of these review censorship claims they come down to that kind of thing. They got copies under shit terms and used the copy anyways.
If you don't agree with review copy terms, don't use the review copy.

@purplehippo This is kind of why I prefer to use paid copies or gift copies from readers rather than review copies from developers. The only time I'll use a review copy is if it basically comes with no strings attached, excepting perhaps a reasonable "do not publish before" date.

@purplehippo Honestly? I couldnt speak to NG in particular, but a lot of them do, they just don't care. They know they can weaponize their audience against a developer, like what Jim Sterling has done countless times now. They don't respect the contracts they sign and the only reason developers put up with it is they need the exposure.

@purplehippo It's the media cycle really. Every time new media formats/outlets come around they position themselves as doing things better than the old guard, but they're almost always just as bad as the old guard. It's why the cycle keeps repeating.
