    @verius @moonman Nothing.  But if the hash is based on content and localid the origin can be considered authoratative, and moreover if you cache the last 'seen' ids then the whole fediverse becomes a network of trust (or distrust, for a modified status)

      @verius @moonman and I were discussing this last night, if we have proper uuids we can verify it hasnt been tampered with and have a sort of federated trust mechanism.
