@deavmi I meant maybe the plugin is unstable but yeah, that can be looked up easily. Unfortunate that many !gnusocial instances has not enabled it, kind of a lock-in for users who are in similar situation as I am in right now. :)

Is there any way to migrate #mydata in the !fediverse through !gnusocial?
Just want to be proactive since @vinilox probably is shutting down.

@oplch If you can access the account, you can make a backup via your settings panel, that you can then restore elsewhere.
-
@oplch This only exists if the site has the plugin enabled however.

@oplch You can archive the #Atom feed. It has all the data in the feed to be programmatically browsable. I wrote an atom-ripper sometime. Importing it is probably not well-supported in !GNUsocial yet but keep the feed as a backup.

@oplch Oh, and make sure you post about moving and to where. That's the social interaction which makes your subscribers follow you along.

@oplch @deavmi The plugin has security implications, that is why it is disabled. But if they're going to shut down the instance, it's probably worth enabling it so people can back up their accounts.
There's also a script in the /scripts/ directory that can back up an account.
