@gameragodzilla I don't know about that, both COD and BF were enjoyable for the first 1 or 2 iterations. I mean, its worth recognizing they wouldnt be able to coast on so many completely bullshit titles for so long if they hadn't done something right with the original installments.

@gameragodzilla But if you missed the reference:

@gameragodzilla It's somewheres in the middle. It wasn't trying to be realistic, really, which most MMS do, but it was infinitely better for it, IMO.
-
@gameragodzilla If we had proper mod tools, you know someone would make that as a mod.
-
@gameragodzilla Yeah it never helps a game when its being really inconsistent in tone.
-
@gameragodzilla It's not that you can't have both levity and drama, it's that you need to have a writer that's competent and communicates in something other than explosions for that. And neither of the series have writers anywheres near that good.
-
@gameragodzilla Well see that's part of effective writing isn't it? The situations you're in make sense in the context of the game world so they don't bother you as much, whereas it doesn't make sense for just a normal soldier who killed 78438734 guys to suddenly have trouble taking this one guy who looks like just another rando enemy down or something.

@gameragodzilla The dissonance is what does it, yeah.
