@gameragodzilla Star Wars is an exception because of the way that the license was made.

@gameragodzilla The developers that made those old star wars game were licensed in such a way that distribution rights were perpetual even if they couldnt make new games.

@gameragodzilla Because most publishers don't like giving licenses in perpetuity because then they cant demand more money and stuff.

@gameragodzilla But originally, these games were made by LucasArts, which was a part of LucasFilm, so they were like well of course we'd give rights like that to our own studio.

Believe you me, you *won't* see the Disney licensed Star Wars games on GOG. But we're not really losing out much there.

@gameragodzilla Whatever will we do? I mean SWTOR is the only modern game I might care to see on there, but GOG doesn't allow MMOs anyways, and even SWTOR isn't an amazing game. @gameragodzilla When you buy out a company like that for IP you also have to honor the prior commitments surrounding it. Its why the new owners of Desura stiffing devs that were unpaid isnt just scummy, its illegal
