@takeshitakenji @moonman It uses a curl request usually but the code is a bit inconsistent with this.

@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite Stuff like that wasn't really around when StatusNet was programmed.
-
@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite Well, that only really works if the machine is local.

@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite If you have remote mysql access set up you might be able to forward the socket but this is kind of outside of what I feel comfortable guiding people through because there's a heap of security issues you'd have to address.

@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite You're using redis right?
Couldn't you just have the bots pull from redis?
-
@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite That could definitely work I think.

@takeshitakenji @moonman @moonoffsite The websockets plugin is an implementation of a draft version of the original standard. It works, but its not an actual standard implementation because of the changes between the draft and the actual standard. However, it has no retry mechanism, so if there's transmission errors, stuff just gets lost.

@moonman @takeshitakenji @moonoffsite Have you guys noticed the same theme I have in GS? (lack of ways to detect and deal with transmission faults?)
-
@moonoffsite @moonman @takeshitakenji Yar, it's dated. It's a good idea, but needs either updated or redone to be used really.

@moonoffsite @moonman @takeshitakenji No, it is not, not saying it is, but I'm continually amazed by how little GS even attempts to approach it.
