@verius Speaking from experience "progaming" (which apparently doesn't get a hyphen these days because they're too k00l for that) is one of the few aspects of gaming exactly as sexist as people make it out to be.

Getting hit once and spending the rest of the game in a military hospital and then sent back home to the united states to live on the streets in poverty and despair because the Veteran's Association is shit and you don't get a pension just for being sent into an active combat zone.

Prior to what in my generation we called "e-sports" going "mainstream" it wasn't that bad. In a roundabout way I guess I should be happy I got into it around the time that was just starting to happen though, so the dream got well and thoroughly crush…

@purplehippo @verius I was literally no 1 in the battle.net NA ladder for Brood War at a point but the lasses that got all the attention were the ones wearing the skimpy outfits, because human nature doesn't change.

Now, not all sexism is bad - but there is no reason for it to exist here. As you say, there's no biological reason for the division in e-sports. if anything, esports SHOULD offer a venue where women can comp…
