@postmesmeric A wise reviewer would use such a pre-release copy to go through the motions of the game and have a sense for the mechanics, but then hold onto the review, and test the netcode on release day, before they write on that.
But that would mean they're not one of the first to release a review, and that would cost them adrev.

@postmesmeric If they don't research, that's on them. If they do, the reviews are good, and they don't like it, that's probably on the reviews. If they do, the reviews are bad, and they buy it anyways (which is a lot of bethesda fans, looking at you everyone who bought Wet), they've no one to blame but themselves.
