Statues: I have been to Mississippi and seen Confederate monuments "Dedicated to the men who fought for our freedom" on courthouse lawns. So, no, leaving particularly egregious statues in places of honor is not acceptable. Yet, those people and their acts are part of our history, and I do not want us to forget them. . I don't have a full solution, but moving some statues to mu… -

You know, if I can maintain my reasonably comfortable 100k pace, I could ride the first 200k of a 400k, go to sleep, and then finish the 400. Probably would make more sense to do 300k and then 100k the next day though. "Overall time limits vary for each brevet according to the distance. These are: (in hours and minutes, HH:MM) 13:30 for 200 KM, 20:00 for 300 KM, 27:00 for 400 K… -

My advice: use some common sense. Wash your hands frequently, keep space between you and others, and wear a mask. Masks are nowhere near foolproof, but at the very least, they can help thin out the number of virus-laden droplets people send out into the air. -

thinking about writing a #cycling training app, but not sure how exactly it fits into any of these. It could maybe fit in learning a new language, but if it's like "zero to app" in 3 months or something, I don't know how useful it will be. I mean, I have other stuff to do, but largely right now I am being paid to learn #Java (and Java tooling). Interestingly, 12 weeks is what … -

I don't know what you do, but triage is a basic ER term, it's not something people rolled out for the pandemic. -

I like Bernie, but you don't need to dig too deep to know Sverige is no paradise. I say this as someone with Tre Kronor tattooed on my arm. I'm not aware of any place that is a paradise. The triage of the old (and anyone unlikely to survive) is an obvious choice at some point. I am not aware that Sweden was in a place where they had run out of ventilators though. It probably di… -

"Using Vocaloids to sing the words I cannot"
In reality, I assume this person is just not a good singer, but...
reading the description, it sounds like there are all sorts of racial slurs being sung, but it's cool because it's Vocaloid. No words on this version anyway: https://circus-p.bandcamp.com/album/spectrum-instrumentals -

three tracks are DevOps, Language and Runtime, and Architecture
hmm, I could probably do a DevOps talk on communication and using a fediverse tool, but I feel like the things you would use this for are largely taken by things like slack.
Perhaps there's something about learning to be discussed. I'm up for suggestions! -
