Stephen Sekula (steve)'s status on Tuesday, 12-Sep-2023 17:10:15 EDT Stephen Sekula I adore this scale model of the SNO detector (well, pieces of SNO so you can actually see things). The model currently lives in the common area of my floor in the surface building @ SNOLAB . The Sudbury Neutrino Experiment was pathbreaking in ultraclean large-scale underground science, and its legacy lives on in SNO+, currently operating in its second (of three) phases. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/69cf0069a8f9df08eef9759c0c802aa1fdc128941be34bc313fed1800881fb46/view -

A new paper proposes that advanced gravitational wave observatories mig… -

This process repeated itself this weekend. This time was a little different. Stephen Sekula (steve)'s status on Saturday, 09-Sep-2023 09:15:16 EDT Stephen Sekula It is a BEAUTIFUL morning in # Sudbury … perfect to finally grok the “freeze in†mechanism for establishing a relic density of cosmic dark matter! I am also very excited for @ jodi to return to Canada from Europe today. https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/373036df6cf2a448cd0cd3b1f8cd8d1b0a9f0a755bbb52a2f862edde0ccaf252/view -
Stephen Sekula (steve)'s status on Friday, 08-Sep-2023 20:35:12 EDT Stephen Sekula I declare that tomorrow, Saturday, is a day for finally understanding # darkmatter “freeze in”, one of the mechanisms by which a population of dark matter can be left in the universe after the big bang despite the dark matter interacting with other forms of matter. Freeze in!
