aqeel (aqeel)'s status on Saturday, 15-Aug-2015 07:55:15 EDT aqeel @jrobb That's pretty great about twister, even when you are offline, no messages are lost. -

Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Saturday, 15-Aug-2015 02:37:18 EDT Erkan Yılmaz great, if you need any help, drop by in irc: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=%23twister&uio=d4 -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 09:23:08 EDT Erkan Yılmaz Yeah, you won't have to do much as usual admin tasks in twister. Compile new versions, that's it mostly, but there are people using still versions from 1 year ago -
Johnny Null (johnnynull)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 08:54:58 EDT Johnny Null @aqeel @erkanyilmaz Agreed 100% - to the point I feel "self-hosted" is almost a misnomer. -
Chalkahlom (chalkahlom)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 08:14:34 EDT Chalkahlom @aqeel OK, it's all your fault, I just installed #twister ;-) Let's see what it's like... -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 07:34:01 EDT Erkan Yılmaz did you enable in your options splitting? then you can write as much as you want and the msg gets automatically split for you. quite neat -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 07:33:28 EDT Erkan Yılmaz Yeah, it's a stupid limit, feel free to add a comment at (1). It could e.g. be solved "easily" by concatenating those 140 char messages to 1 big. (1) https://github.com/miguelfreitas/twister-core/issues/76 -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Friday, 14-Aug-2015 07:17:05 EDT Erkan Yılmaz RT @aqeel !Twister is the easiest federated social network that I have tried installing. Installs on local computer, no need for 100% uptime, getting a domain name or getting an SSL certificate, not to mention federation works out of the box without any issue. After playing with most of the alternatives, this seems like magic! -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 14:30:45 EDT Erkan Yılmaz The only reason for me to look at the "promoted posts" tab is also: to look for new users and welcome them. So, in that view it's a detection mechanism, since new users try out the "mining" in the sense: what does this do? -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 14:26:38 EDT Erkan Yılmaz I have a weak device, thus: for me creating a promoted message would cost too much, it's not worth it. Not only when I think about the environment. I don't also need to mine to use twister, that is. I have posted on the twister mailing list (1), let's see the discussion. I guess it'd be interesting to get to know what people with good machines think about this. (1) https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/twister-users/80pTHXUtonQ -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:32:30 EDT Erkan Yılmaz I see that app is over 1 year old, who knows what/if it still works with the newest twisterd. I guess a screenshot could help me to see what the problem is ? perhaps post here, so others can also see laters: https://github.com/szelok/twister-android/issues -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:26:58 EDT Erkan Yılmaz yes, for Ubuntu here are 2 repos: http://skilledtests.com/wiki/Status_of_Twister_in_various_package_managers -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:24:29 EDT Erkan Yılmaz With !twister you can access all past messages (e.g. !friendica does it also better than sn/gs: when you sub to a person it gets all past messages to your server) -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:22:48 EDT Erkan Yılmaz That's not better, I am stating a problem in sn/gs. because when people want to participate in an ongoing thread (and that thread is not completely existing on their instance, but they saw parts of it here and there) they complain -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:19:32 EDT Erkan Yılmaz ... and, someone with money can spam all of us here in a much faster time (than e.g. on twister). ads/spam are not a problem on twister. feel free to ask @lnxw48 (1) @lohang @vegos - (1) https://fresh.federati.net/notice/277285 -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:13:03 EDT Erkan Yılmaz smiling at (1), is a long thread/discussion today. ;-) (1) "e.g. the twister/bitcoin discussions. but i don't want to be dragged into that again.." -
tuttle (tuttle)'s status on Friday, 15-May-2015 08:14:02 EDT tuttle By the way @question, I see you're three years old. Congratulations! -
Erkan Yılmaz (erkanyilmaz)'s status on Thursday, 13-Aug-2015 12:09:13 EDT Erkan Yılmaz See (1) + replies. Interestingly, I don't see them, only when I go to the tab where they are. I think it has to do if someone starts the client new or so, perhaps? cc @lnxw48 (1) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/736022#notice-1170202
