@erkanyilmaz I don't know I'll do that again with #statusnet / #gnusocial . I've lost interest. -

You, as the Mr. "Persistency award 2013" winner (1) can say that. I've respect for all your efforts so far. But I'm slightly de-valuing for that criteria some other people in the !fediverse (1) http://micro.fragdev.com/conversation/588399#notice-947604 -

Seems a friendica dev finds it intelligent to reuse the existing SN clients for friendica. Now ask yourself: which other so-awesome system doesn't want that? cc @question -

:-( A specific reason for that? Threading is also supported in: #AndStatus (Android) or #crow (html) cc @lg http://federation.skilledtests.com/Statusnet_clients.html -

I won't let this opportunity pass by to make ad again for SN's '#hierarchical threading' feature ;-) I think your SN client #heybuddy doesn't support it http://oracle.skilledtests.com/attachment/23861 -

and for the script you want: I don't do this part via scripting, but there are tools (in many programming languages) which can scrape html pages (e.g.Wikipedia). Look for those which use Wikipedia's API to stay safe against future html changes -

started a section about SN's (non-working) data #portability: http://federation.skilledtests.com/Statusnet_problems.html#data_portability -

@lg found it (1) and I still think the contact-import script should work for normal users too. The problem I see though is, that you have no running SN with all your contacts (which you would put in the identi.ca section instead). well, I don't have the script link at hand, but if my memory doesn't betray me I thought it was usable for any user. But you know... my memory :-) -

More tests to gather more info than (1) would be better. But I won't stop you from sending #FSF your long-awaited email (2). ;-) About this (3): I remember a script also by @tobias to import ones contacts to another SN. Though never tried myself. Which meaning do you prefer more? "To strike a hot piece of #metal, especially iron, with a mallet or other tool before it cools, while it is still hot enough to be shaped." or "To act on an opportunity #promptly while favorable conditions exist; to avoid waiting." https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/strike_while_the_iron_is_hot -

Playing in the #codec area fixed it for me (1), my old videos play nicely in html5. Before doing that the #embed link trick (2) also worked (though only tested with 1 video). cc @inscius @xrevan86 (1) http://oracle.skilledtests.com/conversation/241135#notice-409632 (2) http://sn.jonkman.ca/conversation/52488#notice-96299
