   first sentence now reads "Before discussing my future in music policy with the Future of Music Coalition and elsewhere, it is worth reflecting on my past in music." which I think gets to the heart of Jessica's concern. Now policy is front and center.

   as to if it is necessary, I certainly don't think so. They should know that I'm applying for a particular position. However, as I mentioned before, "Yesterday, an editor said the "why" was too far down in the essay."

    editing is almost complete on this FMC essay. Anybody have thoughts on the first sentence? Yesterday, an editor said the "why" was too far down in the essay. I wrote another paragraph, but decided to delete it and just address it with the first sentence (link in next post)

    hmm, I have painted myself into a bit of a corner. Many of the arguments I am making are explicitly for digital over analog, but I am implicitly arguing for libre content as well. I need to address the distinction in some way.

    I like this paragraph, except "word that begins with p" seems a bit congested and "p-word" is, well, p-word.
