Actually I probably did drop some stuff on 12/25. I'll just have to do better next year. -

Doing it in a VM this time has made things easier. Also they now support building all 64 bit, which makes life easier. -

Yes. Did Bash a little while ago. I'm on Libtool now. I'm halfway through the final set of builds. Probably finish tomorrow. -

GCC test suite is done. Completed in 2 hours 49 minutes. Roughly 200K tests, 1 unexpected failure. Good enough for me. -

I remember reading GCC 4 was a pretty significant rewrite with a lot of improvements. No idea how it would compare to the 2.x series. -

I check on it occasionally. It's the longest part of the whole build, but then you want your compiler to work right. :) -

I usually try to finish a book, but with Stephenson I have to keep at it or I'll forget what's going on. -

You'll notice increased responsiveness. And your posts will actually get to instances that have shaky internet connections. -

It's funny that although I'm not a big Stephenson fan I've still read about 3000 pages of his work. :) -

I thought Cryptonomicon was good, and strong on the historical fiction. I wonder how much of it was based on fact. -

Of course "The Diamond Age" is a good stand-alone book and it's only ~500 pages. -
