Alright, now !GNUsocial nightly can differentiate between identically named groups on different servers when typing. Like so: !fediverse and !fediverse (written as !fediverse@example.com)

How good to know that !gnusocial still exists around here, from this INSTANCE too <3

!gnusocial Frage: Musste den Server 2 Stunden wegen Gewitter vom Netz nehmen. Jetzt fehlen natürlich Queets. Wie kann man die "nachfordern" ?

I understand that my suggestion for distributed management of !Fedgroups is something that is not supported at all with the current !GNUsocial architecture. Implementing something like that would be a major undertaking. I wonder if cooperative, distributed group administration and membership maintenance could be implemented with a plugin...

I'm not centralizing my group subscriptions on purpose, but it's a #NetworkEffect caused by the lack of distributed !Fedgroups hosting -- if I could create another group on my server with the same group name, and if my server then shared the load to distribute messages for the same people already subscribed to that group on other servers, I would have created a new group. It would…

@sen Resources don't really matter, what matters is longevity (backups, plan to keeo running the instance...) and preferrably good !GNUsocial experience as issues might arise that might need debugging and investigation. !fediverse
