When Moon Zappa’s song “Valley Girl” was popular, someone I knew moved to MN for work. They soon returned to SoCal, because everyone in the town where they moved expected them to talk in ValSpeak (and had some other misconceptions about Californians that the person I knew did not fit).

I remember this sort of display from the #1980s. They were said to be better for the eyes than the green-on-black displays, but it just caused me to experience eye pain leading to fairly intense headaches. I was glad when $LOCAL_COLLEGE went back to green. -
