My desktop is now flying with its new SSD. Boots in about 5 seconds. I like balancing fast, limited local storage with limitless, slower network storage (care of glusterfs). And this PC is no spring chicken. Its core hardware is about 6 years old. I do in-place upgrades - RAM is maxed out at 8GB, and the motherboard has the maximum processor in it that it can handle, a quad-core Intel Core Duo. But it's pretty dated by now. Nonetheless, it flies, thanks to this SSD and my old friends, GNU and Linux.
